Intro to Trad - Rock Climbing Specialty Skill Class
Learn to trad climb with us at the Stryker climbing site! This group class will provide professional instruction and a safer method to learn how to lead on trad routes. The focus will be on the proper technique to place gear (cams, nuts and hexes) as well as tactics of when and where gear should be placed. Individuals will initially be doing a mock lead (practicing lead climbing while still attached to a top-rope for extra protection). With proper training, proven skill development, confidence and consent of the instructor, students may elect to then lead without the top-rope back up.
