Join us for a night to remember supporting year-round outdoor adaptive recreation! The DREAM Adaptive Recreation annual Snow Ball fundraiser will be held at 5:30 p.m., March 3rd at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. This high-energy impactful event is our largest of the year. The program will be hosted by MC Janice Lake and Auctioneer Tommy Parker. The event will include silent and live auctions, martini and pie auctions, local musicians, participant stories, guest speakers, and a Raise your Paddle opportunity. Lodging discount is available until February 1 under DREAM Adaptive Recreation.
Funds from last year’s Snow Ball made quite an impact by creating over 1,250 empowering opportunities for people with disabilities in a variety of outdoor recreation pursuits: alpine skiing and snowboarding, Nordic skiing, mountain biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and motorized water sports such as water skiing, wakeboarding and wakesurfing.

This is a FREE community-powered event that encourages people to build a sustainable and resilient future through real seeds, real food, and real skills. The annual daylong fair features a giant free seed giveaway, 20+ booths, 25 skill-building workshops (4 of them kid specific), and 2 Q&A sessions. Every aspect of the event emphasizes the importance of a strong local food system and each attendee’s role in it. This year’s theme is Cultivating Community.

In the increasingly popular world of a cappella singing groups, Accent has carved out its own niche. Inspired by the wizardly jazz harmonies of TAKE 6 and The Hi-Lo’s, the six men of Accent, all of them accomplished arrangers and instrumentalists in their own right, decided to take their love of close-harmony jazz singing – the denser and more intricate the better – as far as it could go. The improbable meeting of Jean-Baptiste Craipeau (France), Simon Åkesson (Sweden), Danny Fong (Canada), Andrew Kesler (Canada), James Rose (United Kingdom), and Evan Sanders (USA) began in 2011 after becoming long-distance fans of each other’s multi-tracked videos on YouTube. Since then, they have released four albums, performed at the London A Cappella Festival, and played dates across Europe, North America and Asia.

The 2nd Sunday of March means dancing at Whitefish Community Center! We have put together a DJ playlist sure to get your feet moving and hips swaying. Waltz, Foxtrot, Argentine Tango, Salsa, Cha-Cha, Swing, Cowboy Two-Step...we do it all! There is always room for song requests as well.
Dancing starts at 2pm. We will have a refreshments break at 3:30pm and then dance until 5pm.
The Whitefish Community Center has a large floor with lots of room to show off your dance moves. Also lots of comfortable seating if you would just like to watch, sip coffee, and tap your foot. We play music that is just fun to listen to.
Children are welcome with -attentive- adult supervision.

Wednesday, March 15th @6:30pm, we will be showing an awarding-winning, 30 minutes long film that tells the inspiring story of Dr. Rajendra Singh - The Waterman of India at SpiritWorks Herb Farm!

| Whitefish Ski Heritage Museum presents an encore screening of the award-winning documentary film “Mission: Mt Mangart” at the O’Shaughnessy on March 17. The film, written, produced and directed by champion extreme skier Chris Anthony, was voted Cannes World Film Festival’s Best Historical Film - April 2021 Edition. “Mission Mt. Mangart” follows the legendary 10th Mountain Division’s trailblazing efforts as an experimental infantry unit made up of world-class athletes, mountain men and cowboys during WWII. It takes us from the initial cold-weather training in the mountains between Vail and Leadville, to the fierce WWII battles in the mountains of northern Italy, and finally to the improbable giant slalom ski race at Mount Mangart on June 3, 1945. The 10th Mountain Division left behind an indelible legacy equally matched by their legendary heroism during wartime. |

You’re invited to a free community music moment!
On Wednesday, March 22 from 12-1 pm, North Valley Music School will host a public Instrument Petting Zoo (IPZ).
This free music education moment will be taught by Executive Director Deidre Corson and is open to all.
This IPZ group class is held in conjunction with Teach Music Week, an annual event in its 9th year. This week-long, worldwide holiday invites musicians, music schools, music stores, and other music organizations to offer a free lesson or class to new students.
This year, more than 1,000 locations in over a dozen countries will participate including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, India, Ireland, Japan, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Netherlands, Philippines, Switzerland, and United Kingdom. Teach Music Week is celebrated annually during the 3rd week of March to coincide with national Music in Our Schools Month.
Vincent James, co-founder of Keep Music Alive states: “We all know that the biggest hurdle to doing something is often just getting started. With Teach Music Week, we are hoping to inspire a new generation of musicians who will continue reaping the many benefits of playing music, long after the month of March
is over.”

| The annual Wilderness Speaker Series will return to Flathead Valley Community College in 2023 in partnership with three local non-profit organizations. Held on the fourth Wednesday of February, March and April, the series is hosted by the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation, the Northwest Montana Lookout Association and the Flathead-Kootenai Chapter of Wild Montana, with support from the Natural Resources Conservation Management program at FVCC. The series will be held in the Large Community Room (#139) at FVCC’s Art and Technology Building from 7:00-8:15 PM. There is no charge for these engaging community events and all are welcome to join the discussion.
