SUMMARY:Artist Reception for Jennifer Li
DESCRIPTION:"Flathead Valley Community College's Art Department will host a reception featuring paintings by Jennifer Li on April 3. Free and open to the public\, the reception will run from 4 to 6 p.m. in the gallery on the lower level of the Arts and Technology Building. Light refreshments will be served. Li's oil painting technique is grounded in the varnish mediums of the Dutch Golden Age. The New York Times has described her work as "straightforwardly beautiful" with "an element of the weird." Her work has been noted for its color and luminosity\, its imaginative and evocative content and the high quality of technique. Li studied painting for 12 years at the Art Students League of New York under distinguished realist painters Harvey Dinnerstein and Frank Mason. She has been painting professionally since 1990. A selection of Li's work will be on display in the Arts and Technology Building from April 3 to 17."
