DESCRIPTION:The Flathead Spoken Word Community invites you to a monthly Poetry Slam\, preceded by an Open Mic Night. The open mic is open to anyone who would like to read a piece they wrote or by an author they admire. The slam is the competitive portion of the night. Slam poets bring 3 poems they wrote themselves\, each 3 minutes or less. Judges rate their poems and audience members are well engaged. There is a prize for first place! This is a safe space for folks to share their work. There is no filter on poems (and therefore may not appropriate for young children)\, however we ask you express yourself authentically in your poetry and with respect and kindness throughout the evening. We look forward to continuing to cultivate a vibrant\, inclusive and connected community with you. This event is recurring on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. See you there!
