SUMMARY:Plein Air Painting Workshop + Walkthrough
DESCRIPTION:Calling all art lovers! Whether you want to connect with your art in a new way\, add to your skills\, or have never painted before--join us for this free Plein Air (open air) painting workshop!\n\nWe will meet at the Lion Mountain Trailhead at 9am and walk to the overlook together (1 mile in). The workshop will be at the overlook.\n\nNOTE: Other Plein Air painters will be scattered about on the trail from the learning pavilion to the overlook!! If you're hiking at Lion Mountain on this date\, make sure you stop by\, say hi\, and see what they're working on!\n\nSupplies: \n\n-Plan to bring your own painting supplies. However\, I am happy to bring some extra watercolor supplies if needed! Please list on the RSVP form if you would like watercolor supplies for the workshop. \n\n-You might want to bring a small\, lightweight chair to sit in at the overlook. However\, there are many rocks to sit on if desired.\n\n \n\nArtist Bio: Jane Latus Emmert\, www.montanajaneart.com\n\nJane Latus Emmert is a joyful\, spontaneous artist known for her bold colors and semi-impressionistic style. "I don't strive for photo realism\, I have a camera for that. Instead\, I paint from my heart\, focusing on the elements in the scene that capture my eye and make my heart beat a little faster. I'm an avid outdoor painter and paint weekly with the Plein Air Painters of the Flathead. I was 30 years old when I took an art class and my heart did the Snoopy 'happy dance' inside me when I painted. As an instructor for over 30 years\, I hope to instill joyful freedom in my students along with the skills they need to create paintings that make their hearts dance\, too."\n\n \n\nThis event is free and suitable for adults and mature children. RSVPs are required. Please cancel via email if you change plans. \n\n \n\nAccessibility: This walk does require travel on a single-track\, dirt trail. The trail is wide but a little uneven\, including rocks and roots. The trail is not flat and does go up on the way to the overlook and down on the way back to the parking lot.\n\nFor more information about this event and other education & community programs call 406-862-3880 or email wteducation@whitefishlegacy.org.
