SUMMARY:THE WHITE HOUSE -- HOME OF THE PRESIDENTS presentation at the Whitefish Community Center
DESCRIPTION:The White House -- Home of the Presidents event by award winning former science teacher Linda Smith at the Whitefish Community Center.\n\n\n\nThe White House\, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue\, has served as the residence of every U.S. President since John Adams\, when the national capital moved from Philadelphia.\n\n\n\nThere are countless fascinating stories woven throughout the 200+ year history of the President's House. Linda has selected a few favorite stories to shar during this special presentation.\n\n\n\nOne intriguing highlight features the HSM Resolute\, a British ship trapped in Arctic ice in August 1853. Somehow\, this vessel became connected to one of the most recognizable pieces of furniture in the Oval Office -- and has become Linda's favorite "tangent" in her White House presentation.\n\n\n\nCome join us at the Whitefish Community Center on July 9 to hear more of her exiting stories about the White House.\n\n\n\nThe presentation is FREE and all are welcome!
