North Valley Music School has been inspired and humbled by the incredible outpouring of support from the community during this year’s Great Fish Community Challenge. Hosted by the Whitefish Community Foundation, the five-week charitable campaign encourages the area to donate to local nonprofits. This year. NVMS allocated all funds raised to Be Instrumental, the capital campaign to build a new music school and campus. The fundraising effort was a success, with NVMS engaging more than 400 donors and exceeding its original goal of $250,000. THANK YOU! To show our appreciation, North Valley Music School and Project Whitefish Kids invite the community to “Danke Fest,” a celebratory social on October 4th at Smith Fields. This free event is an effort to say thank you (“danke”) and will offer cider and barbecue dinner for everyone. The site of the new North Valley Music School will be staked to show the footprint of the future facility. Volunteers from both NVMS and PWK will be grilling and greeting. Board members and staff from North Valley Music School will be on hand to answer any questions about the project and offer tours of the site. We are so excited to host you and hope you attend. “Danke Fest” Wednesday, October 4th 5-6:30 pm A free event hosted by PWK and NVMS Smith Fields, Whitefish, Montana “We are so excited to invite the community to the future home of the nonprofit’s new music school,” said Deidre Corson, Executive Director of NVMS. “This ambitious and exciting project will elevate our ability to serve our musical families for years to come. While we are still fundraising for the final $2M to meet our overall goal, the recent outpouring of support during the Great Fish Community Challenge really boosted morale and confirmed that the community truly supports the effort to bring a state-of-the-art music campus to Northwest Montana.” After “Danke Fest,” the community is invited to Christ Lutheran Church for a free acappella singing concert by The Inland Isle Men’s Quartet at 7:30 pm. The Quartet have sung together for over twenty years and will present a diverse program of folk songs from Scotland, Ireland, England, Canada, and America as well as classical and sacred music. No registration is needed to attend the events. More information on the building project and how to support the capital campaign can be found at www.nvms.me or by calling 406-862-8074.
