In the latest episode of The IWD406 Podcast, our guest is Tiffany Counts.
This podcast episode highlights Tiffany Counts, who serves as a volunteer brand ambassador for Women Who Explore and Dirtbag Gypsies. She aims to provide women with opportunities to experience new activities in a safe and supportive environment, fostering community connections and meeting new people. Tiffany, originally from southern Arizona, grew up raising animals for 4-H and FFA, and competing in Rodeo. She later moved to New Mexico for college, earning a degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science, though she never pursued a career in these fields. To fund her education, she worked as a wildland firefighter for five summers and then transitioned to becoming a wildland fire dispatcher for over 15 years. Following a separation and subsequent divorce in 2017, Tiffany sought healing and growth. She embarked on a solo 5-day backpacking trip in Kings Canyon National Park, despite having no prior backpacking experience. This journey in nature empowered her, fostering strength and resilience. Her goal is to empower women, sharing the transformative power of nature and overcoming challenges in the mountains. Looking ahead to 2024, Women Who Explore Montana has grown to nearly 11,000 members, with Tiffany recruiting ambassadors who organize events across the state.
