WUI Walk'n'Talk at Lion Mountain

Clear your afternoon schedule and join Wild Montana along with Firesafe Flathead for this hike through the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) starting from Lion Mountain. We hike through it all the time, we’re often surrounded by it and some of us even live in it – but what is the Wildland Urban Interface and why is it important to know? We’ll cover that along with fire history education, fire ecology in NW Montana, and forest succession. Historically, forests depend on fire or similar disturbances to maintain healthy ecosystems. We’ll cover all of this and more as we stroll along a 4 mile loop on this afternoon hike.
