Jul 4    4th of July Festivities & Fireworks over Whitefish Lake - 2021
Recognized by the New York Times as one of America's Top-10 Fireworks Displays, the Whitefish Chamber's annual 4th of July spectacular is launched from a floating barge some 300-feet off the shore of Whitefish City Beach, on beautiful Whitefish Lake!

The fireworks display begins at dusk (appx 10:30 p.m.), but City Beach will be bustling all day long with pre-fireworks activity including kayak and paddleboard rentals, a variety of food and snack vendors, and plenty of space to spread-out and relax.

Parking at (and near) City Beach is extremely limited, so we suggest that you walk, bike or take the free shuttle bus service that will run between downtown Whitefish and City Beach from 7-11:30 p.m. on the Fourth.  The busses will load on Central Avenue, in front of the O'Shaughnessy performing Arts Center.

Jul 9    Live Music at The Firebrand Restaurant featuring John Dunnigan
Be entertained by local legend John Dunnigan in the Boat Club. If Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor and John Prine were joined together in some bizarre musical cloning experiment, the outcome would be John Dunnigan. This "offbeat" musician and entertainer took the backroads to Montana over three decades ago and never left (he's no fool). His original, often hilarious songs make you think, laugh, sing along and raise your glass in a toast to life. In short, he can put a smile on your face.

Jul 9    Midnight North
In the nearly 9 years since their origins in early 2012, Midnight North has established itself as a mainstay on stages in both the Bay Area roots music scene and on the nationwide touring circuit. They have opened for acts like Phil Lesh, the Infamous Stringdusters, Twiddle, & Jackie Greene, played festival stages across the country, and they have welcomed the likes of Bob Weir, Luther Dickinson, Karl Denson, Eric Krasno, & Nicki Bluhm to join them onstage. Rolling Stone hailed Midnight North as the “Best New Act” in its review of 2018’s Peach Music Festival saying the band “takes the best parts of roots music and weaves them into a tapestry of rock and Americana.”

Jul 24    Live Music at The Boat Club Bar featuring John Dunnigan
Be entertained by local legend John Dunnigan in the Boat Club. If Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor and John Prine were joined together in some bizarre musical cloning experiment, the outcome would be John Dunnigan. This "offbeat" musician and entertainer took the backroads to Montana over three decades ago and never left (he's no fool). His original, often hilarious songs make you think, laugh, sing along and raise your glass in a toast to life. In short, he can put a smile on your face.

Jul 30    Pollinators in the Park
Join the Flathead Conservation District and the City of Kalispell Parks & Rec for a FREE screening of the movie, The Pollinators. About The Pollinators movie: "Thousands of semi-trailers crisscross the country in the dead of night delivering goods through the darkness to stores, warehouses and factories nationwide. But some of them carry an unsuspected and highly unusual cargo. Honey bees. Tens of billions of them are transported back and forth from one end of the United States to the other in a unique annual migration that’s indispensable to the feeding of America. One out of every three bites we eat, the growth of almost all our fruits, nuts and vegetables, would be impossible without pollination from bees. A new documentary feature, The Pollinators, directed by Peter Nelson and produced by Sally Roy, Nelson and Michael Reuter, presents the fascinating and untold story. And warns that the bees are in serious danger." Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rac_D_v-nrc When you sign up for our free event on this page you will automatically be entered into a raffle to win various prizes, such as starter kits for keeping bees! We will giving away free native wildflower and grass seed to anyone interested in participating in Flathead Conservation Districts Pollinator Initiative, which you can find more info about here. https://flatheadcd.org/flathead-pollinator-initiative/ Food and drinks will also be available for purchase.
