Whitefish Theatre Company presents "Church and State" (Black Curtain production)

    Date: November 19, 2022 Time: 7:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Event Description No Senators Were Harmed In the Making of this Play
Three days before his bid for re-election – and in the wake of another school shooting - U.S. Senator Charles Whitmore has a life-altering crisis of faith, triggering an off-the-cuff comment to a Twitter-savvy blogger that sends his entire campaign into a tailspin. The Senator's devout wife and liberal campaign manager try desperately to contain the damage, but in a country where religion influences politics and politics have become a religion, how do you reach the people and stay true to yourself? A timely and fast-paced story that was nominated for Best New Play in 2017, Church and State is simultaneously funny, heartbreaking, and uplifting.

“A crackling script. Feels very of the moment. An enjoyable, thought-provoking and, I promise, humorous piece of theatre. I wish every member of Congress would see it!” —NPR.

Reminder that as a Black Curtain - or reader's theatre - production, there is no set, no costumes, and actors will be reading from their scripts.
