Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey: Color Me Montana - Opening Reception at Cawdrey Gallery

Nancy Dunlop Cawdrey will be Cawdrey Gallery’s featured artist for the month of August. The opening reception for her show titled “Color Me Montana” will be during the Whitefish Gallery Nights Art Walk.

On Thursdays throughout the year, the art community of Whitefish comes together to host an evening of featured artist exhibitions, entertainment, and light refreshments. Join us in celebrating our art community through Whitefish Gallery Nights!

Nancy loves color, texture and pattern. Through her pursuit for texture and passion for color, Nancy discovered the spontaneity and brilliance she could create through her silk paintings. Painting on silk is a Chinese technique that has been practiced for thousands of years. Although silk painting is now her medium of choice, she continues to explore a variety of subjects in watercolor, oil and experimental media. Though few people realize it, Nancy often employs a mixture of media in her silk paintings. Through this overlaying of various media she creates buoyant color and texture with her combination of transparent pigment and the shimmer of silk.

Nancy will be showcasing new paintings on silk and oil that will be going to upcoming shows including a solo show at the San Francisco Street Gallery in Santa Fe, the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, The Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival, and The Coors Western Art Exhibit & Sale.
