Girls on the Run is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a
fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. We are committed to creating a world where
every girl knows and activates her limitless potential.
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Executive Director to lead our Girls on the Run Western Region,
Montana Council. This role is responsible for overall leadership driving growth, including fundraising, community
engagement, program delivery, and operational and financial management.
The Executive Director works closely with the Council Board of Directors and community partners to expand
program reach, ensure financial sustainability, and deepen impact across the region.

What You’ll Do
1) Lead & Grow the Organization
- Execute the strategic plan in partnership with the Executive Board, Board Members and Committees
- Drive growth in program participation, western region community reach, and impact as per strategic plan
- Align local strategy with Girls on the Run International standards
- Develop and manage annual budget with Board oversight, provide timely reporting to headquarters and Board
2) Drive Fundraising & Community Outreach
- Lead fundraising strategy and execution, including securing multi-year funding commitments
- Serve as the primary fundraiser and partner with the Board to achieve fundraising goals
- Build, manage and grow relationships with donors, sponsors, grants and community liaisons
3) Oversee Programs and Coaching
- Ensure high-quality, inclusive program delivery across all sites, including but not limited to Girls on the Run Coaching, Bold
Heart Coaching, summer camps and community events
- Expand access to underserved communities and school participation
- Cultivate strong coaching and volunteer pipeline across the schools and regions
- Track and report program outcomes and key performance indicators

4) Engagement and Culture
- Serve as the face of Girls on the Run in the community
- Build partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and local organizations
- Represent the organization at events, media opportunities, and outreach efforts
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and mission-driven culture

5) Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit, education, or related field
- Proven success in fundraising, sponsorships and/or grant development
- Combination of experiences in working with organizational operations, managing budget/expenses, and program
execution
- Experience working with or supporting a Board of Directors
- Ability to works autonomously and in tandem with Board and Council Committees
- Strong relationship management, leadership skills, and ability to navigate diverse relationships and stakeholders
- Passion for youth development, equity, and community impact

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 with Performance Based Incentive potential
- Flexible work arrangements
