About Us

A non-profit, community music school for all ages and levels of students, offering private instruction, early childhood music, performing ensembles, group classes, workshops and summer camps.

North Valley Music School is a community-based, intergenerational music school. We were formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization in 1997 and teach over 600 students annually from babies to adults through private lessons, group classes, summer camps, and workshops.

Located in beautiful Whitefish, we bring music to over 1,500 community members each year with our faculty and student concerts and community performances. Our faculty offers private lessons in Piano, Violin, Cello, Bass, Electric Bass, Voice, Guitar, Electric Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Harp, Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet, and Percussion. Scholarships are available for all ages. NVMS relies on donations and grants from individuals, businesses and foundations to keep our school operating and providing affordable, quality music education for all.(see Support NVMS). NVMS is housed in a historic Whitefish home at 432 Spokane Avenue (Hwy 93), convenient to downtown and schools.

North Valley Music School admits students of any race, color, nationality, sex, ethnic origin or religious affiliation. The first floor of NVMS is fully accessible for students or audiences with disabilities. A student may be accommodated on this level with advance scheduling. Handicapped parking and access is available in the alley behind NVMS. NVMS has teachers experienced in teaching students
