About Us
The Skola is a non-profit independent school inspiring students to become thoughtful change makers and stewards of both the land and their community.
We foster curiosity, creativity, compassion, and connection to support each child’s innate love of learning and their individual potential to make meaningful change in the world.
At Skola, education is rooted in the belief that learning is both intentional and joyful. Through evidence-based instruction, meaningful relationships, and immersive experiences in nature and community, students are empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our curriculum begins with explicit, systematic instruction grounded in the science of learning and aligned with state and national standards. These strong academic foundations allow students to confidently extend their learning into inquiry, project-based experiences, and hands-on exploration beyond the classroom.
Mixed-age classrooms, low student-teacher ratios, and highly trained educators ensure that each child is deeply known and supported. We intentionally meet students at their growth edge, nurturing both strengths and challenges while building independence, responsibility, and resilience.
Learning is not confined to four walls. By grounding academics in nature and the local community, students connect curiosity to real-world context and discover that learning is relevant, meaningful, and alive.
