About Us
A community based non-profit fund raising organization established to maintain and enhance the educational opportunities, programs and standards of the Whitefish School District.
The Whitefish Education Foundation (WEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to “enhance the quality and scope of educational opportunities for all students of the Whitefish Public Schools.” The Foundation’s Board of Directors and its committees are composed of volunteer parents, educators, school board trustees, and local community members. The board and committees work to raise and administer funds for classrooms, educational enhancement grants, scholarships, students-in-need, field trips, educator training, and staff appreciation, while also recruiting and overseeing volunteers to fulfill the Foundation’s mission.
WEF administers an ongoing fundraising initiative, participates in the Great Fish Community Challenge, organizes student-involved fundraising events at Muldown Elementary and Whitefish Middle Schools, and manages a staff thank-you event.
Private individuals, families, and organizations have donated funds to establish scholarships that WEF manages and awards yearly to Whitefish High and Independent High School seniors for future education. WEF also maintains a permanent endowment with the Whitefish Community Foundation, for the benefit of the school district.
