Firefly is a wellness ranch retreat destination and event center. We offer holistic riding lessons, camps, retreats, corporate trainings, equine assisted therapy and coaching, camping, vacation rental. Firefly Horse Co is unique from other traditional horse barns and therapy practices in many ways! Our desire is to bring horses and their healing abilities to the general public. Taking lessons, camps or therapy at Firefly goes to the deepest level of connection between horse and rider. We use principles of natural horsemanship and include learning and therapeutic counseling principles that allow for presence, connection, and balance. The relationship between horse and rider goes so much deeper than just learning a skill. It takes patience, persistence and attentiveness to the needs horse as well as awareness of one’s own emotional and physical needs. Julie is an owner and lead therapist at Firefly Horse Co and Firefly Healing Arts. She’s had a private counseling practice for 10 years and is a Certified Equine Assisted Therapist through Human Equine Alliances for Learning (HEAL). Horses have always been a mainstay in Julie’s life and she feels truly blessed to be able to work with them daily to assist humans in the growth and healing process. She was in 4-H growing up and showed multiple horses in Western Pleasure and English Equitation, as well as barrels / speed events. She also started and trained foals from the ground up. Julie now focuses primarily on Natural Horsemanship, and the horse / human connection, and feels this can heal humans AND horses.
